MultiSelect Filters

This document explains how the MultiSelect filters work in the Divi FilterGrid plugin. To enable MultiSelect you’ll need to turn on the Use MultiSelect Filters toggle in the Filters Options section of the Content tab within the module settings.

MultiSelect Filters Relation

Once the Use MultiSelect Filters toggle is turned on the MultiSelect Filters Relation option will appear with the default selection of OR.

OR – If a user clicks on more than one filter, the grid will display posts from any of the selected filters.

AND – If a user clicks on more than one filter, the grid will display posts only if the post belongs to all of the selected filters.

MultiSelect Filter Buttons

If the Filters Layout option is set to Buttons (default) and the MultiSelect Filters option is turned on, the active filter background color will be applied to each selected filter as it’s selected so the user can easily see which filters are active. To remove a selection, users can simply click on the filter again which will change the background color back to the default value. After each click, whether the user is selecting or deselecting a filter, the grid will refresh with the new results.

MultiSelect Filter Dropdown

If the Filters Layout option is set to Dropdown and the MultiSelect Filters option is turned on, selecting a filter from the dropdown will add that filter to the select placeholder area. This allows users to easily see which filters they have selected. Clicking on a filter in the select placeholder area will remove it from the area. After each click, whether the user is selecting or deselecting a filter, the grid will refresh with the new results.
